HATI SUCI GUESTHOUSE

In 1993 when I, Kathryn, first came to Lombok it didn’t take me long to discover the natural beauty of Lombok. Circumstances led me to meet the Noor Family and you’ll have to wait for my book to hear the full story about how Hati Suci came to be.

Hati Suci means “holy heart” in Indonesian. Situated on the crest of a hill, the astounding beauty washes through you and fills you with a feeling of peace and fullness. That’s how we chose the name!

Located on the east side of Lombok Island in the village of Sapit, Hati Suci is about 1,000 meters above sea level. Turning in a circle you see the sunrise, terraced rice fields dotted with coconut palm trees that cascade down to the ocean. You can see Sumbawa Island, Lombok’s very large neighbor to the east. Turn more, you see hills blanketed in lush vegetation and the majestic Mountain Rinjani behind.

Hati Suci is about 60 kilometers from Mataram. We’ll be happy to tell you the best transport methods to suit your needs. Lombok is a quick 25 minute flight from Denpasar Bali or an all day experience on the local ferry that leaves from Padangbai, Bali and arrives at Lembar Harbor on Lombok.

Rinjani is a famous climbing destination and the staff can arrange an entire climb as far as the top or the rim. The best times to climb are from April through October. Our guests (many have become like family!) rave about our beautiful setting and comfortable rooms and great food in our restaurant. Always smiling and accommodating, the Noor family and staff, share their life, culture and special places of interest to see. You can experience daily life of the village, unspoiled nature. If you timing is right you might even be there during some cultural or wedding ceremony that you will likely be invited to attend.

You can also just sit on your veranda and soak in the surroundings!

You don’t need air conditioning in this tropical “hill station” climate, cool and fresh. A light sweater or jacket is good to have but if you forget, just toss a sarong or one of our ikat blankets over you and you’re set

Our rooms average equivalent to U.S. dollars from 6.00 single, 9.00 double, breakfast included. You have several breakfast items to choose from and they are all substantial and delicious!
